US Atlantic Coast jet fuel stocks near 23-year low

Jet fuel inventories on the US Atlantic Coast dropped to their lowest level since 1996 during the week ended January 11, Energy Information Administration data showed Wednesday.

USAC jet stocks fell 1.41 million barrels to 7 million barrels last week, lowest since falling to 6.73 million barrels on April 5, 1996. That marked the third lowest total since EIA began tracking them in January 1990.

Jet production in the region rose 27,000 b/d to 121,000 b/d, but could not overcome the steep draw in inventory. The last time it was reported higher was August 24, 2018, at 123,000 b/d.

Jet imports into the USAC declined, falling 46,000 b/d to 10,000 b/d, retreating from a two-month high.
