SIBUR patented a unique technology for the purification of LPG from sulfur and other impurities
Rospatent registered the exclusive right of the SIBUR subsidiaries - NIPIGAZ and SiburTyumenGaz - to invent a method for purifying liquefied petroleum gases from molecular sulfur, sulfur compounds and carbon dioxide.
The uniqueness of the technology lies in the simultaneous purification of a wide fraction of light hydrocarbons (BFLH) from acidic components and from elemental sulfur through the use of a special absorbent. NGL is a product of the processing of associated petroleum gas and is a mixture of LPG. The fact is that existing technologies either do not allow such cleaning in one technological unit in one step, or do not provide the required concentrations of acidic components and elemental sulfur at the outlet.
In simple terms, the new technology will significantly reduce and simplify the process of cleaning NGL.
The invention can be used in the oil, gas, gas processing, oil refining, petrochemical, chemical and other industries.
The new technology is already being used at SIBUR's enterprise. From some of the fields in Western Siberia, the South-Balyksky Gas Processing Plant SiburTyumenGaz receives associated gas with a high content of sulfur compounds and carbon dioxide. Therefore, at the Yuzhno-Balykskoye gas processing plant, a new project for the construction of a deep-cleaned BFLH installation, in force since 2018, was implemented, on which a new technology was tested. The general designer was NIPIGAZ. The new installation and the modernization carried out in 2017 allowed the Yuzhno-Balykskoye GPP to set a historical record for the production of NGL in 2018.
The work of the new installation of deep cleaning NGL goes in continuous round-the-clock mode. The capacity of the implemented deep-cleaned BFLH installation is up to 1.5 million tons / year. Application of a new unique technology allows protecting pipelines transporting BFLH from corrosive impurities and satisfying raw material requirements for the facilities of the largest petrochemical complex in Russia - ZapSibNeftekhim.
