DeltaTek wins more than ￡1.5m in contracts in 2019

Well construction firm DeltaTek has announced it won more than ￡1.5 million in contract awards in 2019.

The Dyce-based company, which commercialised its business 18 months ago, said it “continues to be deployed” by some of the North Sea’s biggest operators.

A contract win with Energean in 2019 meant the firm needed to take on two more full-time staff members to cover the workload.

DeltaTek has grown from an initial workforce of four to 15 since it commercializsed.

The firm’s SeaCure technology was deployed from the Stena DrillMAX vessel at the Karish field off Israel – the tool was designed for constructing wells with more reliability and speed.

It was also trialed in the North Sea by Chevron and Siccar Point Energy in summer 2018.

Siccar subsequently awarded DeltaTek a contract to provide SeaCure in the North Sea for two years.

DeltaTek also invested more than ￡1m in its domestic and international expansion in 2019.

The firm claims it has doubled its Aberdeen business in 2019, while also establishing an operations base in Houston, Texas.

Tristam Horn, DeltaTek chief executive, said: “I am delighted to report that 2020 will find us working for all existing clients with current drilling campaigns.

“In addition, we have confirmed a number of new clients, both North Sea and USA-based.

“A focus on technology, collaboration and people is required to keep the industry moving forward – results suggest that we are meeting our aim to be at the forefront of that movement.”
