Saudi Aramco, Aker to Collaborate on Digitization, Sustainability

Saudi Aramco and Aker ASA (AKER.OS) are teaming up to collaborate on industrial digitization and sustainability initiatives in Saudi Arabia, the companies said Tuesday.

Saudi oil giant Aramco--officially known as Saudi Arabian Oil Co.--and Norwegian industrial group Aker have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore the deployment of digital technologies to industrial companies as well as sustainability initiatives, the companies said.

Aramco and Aker are also evaluating establishing a joint venture with Aker subsidiary Cognite AS, a developer of industrial software, and creating joint industrial software and artificial-intelligence research centers, the company said.
